Sharks and corals protected in Öresund

Öresund is a unique marine environment. In the waters between Denmark and Skåne, the sweet and oxygen-poor waters of the Baltic Sea meet the salty oxygen-rich water from the Kattegat. Trawl bans have been in place for almost 90 years.

The busy Öresund contains an exciting underwater life, which will be preserved with the help of Sweden’s first municipal marine protected areas.
