Lina Mattsson

Lina Mattsson holds a PhD in ecology in addition to a degree in journalism. She has worked for the science editorial team at Sveriges Television (SVT).

As a researcher, Lina focused on recycling industrial waste by utilizing microalgae from the Baltic Sea to develop solutions aimed at reducing the impact of eutrophication. During her research years, she felt that scientific findings were not adequately communicated to society. After completing her doctoral thesis, she decided to become a science journalist to inform the public about issues concerning marine environments. Today, Lina works full-time as a reporter at Deep Sea Productions.
